Type of Funds available to you.

In the UK, there are various funds and sources of financial support available to individuals who require care services. These funds can help cover the costs associated with different types of care, depending on the individual's needs, circumstances, and eligibility criteria. Here are some key funds and support options

Local Authority Funding

Local authorities in the UK provide financial assistance for individuals who require social care services. This funding may be available for home care, residential care, day care, or respite care. Eligibility for local authority funding is determined through a needs assessment and means test.

NHS Continuing Healthcare

NHS Continuing Healthcare is a package of care funded by the National Health Service (NHS) for individuals with complex healthcare needs. It covers the full cost of care, including care home fees or support provided in the individual's own home. Eligibility for NHS Continuing Healthcare is assessed based on health needs, rather than financial means.

Direct Payments

Individuals who are eligible for social care support may receive a personal budget from their local authority. This is a sum of money allocated to the individual to arrange and pay for their own care services. Direct payments allow individuals to receive their personal budget as a cash payment, giving them greater control and flexibility over their care arrangements.

Attendance Allowance

Attendance Allowance is a non-means-tested benefit available to individuals aged 65 or over who need help with personal care due to a disability or illness. It provides financial support to help cover the costs of care at home or in a care home.

Disability Living Allowance

These are benefits that provide financial support to people with long-term health conditions or disabilities. These benefits can help cover the extra costs associated with disability, including care and support needs.

Carer's Allowance

Carer's Allowance is a benefit available to people who provide regular and substantial care for someone with a disability or health condition. It provides financial support to carers who meet certain eligibility criteria.

Charitable Grants and Assistance

Various charities and organisations in the UK offer grants, financial assistance, and other forms of support to individuals and families facing specific care needs or financial hardship. These grants may help cover the costs of equipment, adaptations, respite care, or other essential expenses.
